Description

With my deep interest in marks and textures, I have been creating calligraphic marks and textures, and creating layering arts using different mediums and/or different kinds of paper like watercolor paper and thin Japanese paper. Furthermore, my recent experience in taking a collage art course reaffirmed how important to me that my process for creating art needs words and text as its core.

In this workshop, we will first create marks and textures by writing words or texts in an abstract manner using mainly folded pens and pointed brushes. Then consider how to paste them together with thoughtful composition. We will paste our marks and textures on wood board and/or paste collage pieces on book pages as series to create calligraphic collage arts.

My wish is to make this course as an opportunity for each participant to experience conveying a message through their abstract calligraphy creations.
