Description

Cadel letters are created by combining various pattens like Celtic Knots to create interwoven strokes. With the large number of patterns and the creativity of the scribes there is no standard alphabet. Using the work of a Spanish scribe the class will study his basic patterns. With these patterns, we will design an entire alphabet.  The capitals may appear complex but with a few patterns many different capitals can be created with variations. Cadel’s are a very creative lettering style that has many patterns from simple to quite complex. This class concentrates on a few basic patterns that can be remembered and used to create attractive capitals.
