The greatest work of art in western calligraphy and illumination in the last 500 years is the Saint John’s Bible. saintjohnsbible.org
It is written out in essentially four different lettering styles: incipit, standard bible script, free form capitals, and versals. We will be analyzing, writing out, and creating finished works inspired by and based on these.

Supply List:
-Although I highly recommend Mitchell nibs you may use Brause, Tape, or Speedball broad edge nibs if that is what you are accustomed to. Have at least one size of each nib: 1mm through 3mm. See the “Broad Edge Nib Equivalency” sheet. If you are using Mitchell nibs make sure you have a couple of reservoirs.
During our Zoom sessions I assume most people don't have enough table space to set up a slant board (which I use for all of my “real work“) and will have to work flat. Hence the need for nibs with reservoirs.
-N04 -Mitchell Nibs -- at least 2 each of sizes 2 through 4 as well as one each of the other sizes
