Pointed pen scripts have become more popular in the last few years. It seems everyone enjoys doing modern scripts and personal variations yet fail to have a strong foundation on which to base their letterforms. This class will start with step-by-step instruction of the basic strokes, minuscules and capitals of Copperplate. This will serve as a foundation for the second part of the class where we’ll make small changes to what we’ve learned to create a more expressive and modern Informal Pen Script. We’ll also cover ways you can create other expressive scripts based on the foundation of a strong Copperplate.
