The Brause Pen Company worked to manufacture a nib with the qualities of vintage nibs. Brause 76.

- Very flexible, can create very thick downstrokes (also called swells or shades)
- Its flexibilty can be difficut for beginners to control
- Can need fiddling to get ink to flow
- Like all brand new pointed nibs, a new Brause Rose needs prep to remove the protective coating.
- Similar size as the Nikko G
- Made in Germany
- Stamped on nib: Brause & Co. / No. 76 / Iserlohn - The image of a ROSE also stamped on the nib

Great nib for madarasz or larger scripts
I bought these nibs for a Madarasz class, and they are great for that. EXTREMELY flexible for making large swells but also make nice hairlines without being so pointy as to catch on paper. I would not recommend these for copperplate or smaller scripts.

Great Flex
The Brause Rose calligraphy nib has great flex and I can get downstrokes that are sumptuously thick. It is night and day compared to the Nikko G.

reasonable prices
It's great that you guys sell nibs individually and at reasonable prices. I purchased a 3 pack of brause rose nibs from another vender and paid too much!

Brause Rose has flex
The flex of this nib can be a challenge to those new to pointed pen scripts. But it is that flex that makes it capable of creating such wide and dramatic downstokes. You can't get this contrast between thick swells and thin upstrokes with a Nikko G!

Great for Modern Calligraphy
I like this nib's super flexibility. It gives juicy swells.
-
Smooth and flexible
I find this nib really smooth and quite flexible. It produces not so fine hairlines, and very thick downstrokes, so I like it for larger scripts.

Very Flexible Nib
This nib is larger than you might assume from the picture. It's not a tiny crescent like Hunt flex points, it demands a full-sized holder. The rumors of it being a hard starter are true, but no more difficult than other very flexible nibs like the Hunt 99. And once you get it started, it writes with surprising smoothness for something so flexible.
