Better than gouache
This is a great option for white ink. It's better than gouache for creating custom ink matches - mainly because it's more accessible in the jar, a bit smoother, and 100% opaque. When properly adjusted for the nib and and paper, it's as a lovely to use as Sumi inks.

White bleed proof ink
Fair; tends to get thick or dry out if you don’t keep the bottle closed tight

Makes a wonderful white for calligraphy
While Dr Oh Martin's bleedproof white has many things it is excellent for, my favorite is writing with it. You do need to thin it, but a few drops of water suffices. Dip you pen and do a few test strokes. It will write a nice opaque white line. The more you thin it the less opaque. You can even write with it all the way down to almost transparency. Highly versatile, provides lots of flexibility for your art.
