ALL SKILL LEVELS | BROAD-EDGE PEN
French Ronde gained popularity in France during the 17th century from the masterful work of Louis Barbedor. French Ronde is a vertical freehand script that utilizes connecting ligatures. Over the years, this script has been morphed and modified by penmen.
In class, you will learn the classic French Ronde letterforms from the Zanerian Manual. We will look at a variety of examples to present letter variations that you can also use in your work. This lettering style can be written with the traditional broad-edge pen and with a monoline writing instrument. Once you learn the traditional letterforms, you can adapt this beautiful script to accommodate calligraphic projects.
