Description

The bright, glittery silvers and golds of winter look especially good when rendered on dark backgrounds. Using white and an assortment of glittery mica pigments, we will paint leaves, poinsettia, and other textures with the wedge brush. We will add some light pen illustrations and outlines to provide further texture. Black, gold and silver accents will add drama to the designs. We will then use these designs in many borders, wreaths and other seasonal illustrations.

But winter is also about cool color palettes, and we will also look at some of my favorites:

Traditional Christmas - reds, greens, white
Christmas Morning - cranberry, grey, light gold and silver
Pine Tree - greens, gold and ivory
Contemporary - copper, blue and ivory
