• TOPIC: FOUNDATION from east to west Hi! I am Kanako from Japan. In this class we will learn basics of foundational hand, which Edward Johnston created for beginners. You can learn whole basics of calligraphy through foundational hand. We will cover from skeleton to process of making artworks. And at the later part of the class, I would like to introduce traditional Japanese patterns, which are very beautiful and interesting with calligraphy too. Calligraphy is a kind of meditation. We have busy, and sometimes tough days in our lives (including me). I hope that learning in this class will be a fun and relaxing time for you. Let’s have fun!
