For those of you who have always wanted to learn calligraphy but didn't know where or how to begin, this is a perfect opportunity to learn about the tools, materials, and basic pen techniques needed to start your journey! We will work together to understand how these pens work, what to do and what not to do, as well as some basic vocabulary and guidelines for learning many different historical alphabets.
We strongly recommend this class for those of you interested in pursuing the Gentle Penman's new series of workshops: Historical Hands, which starts on Sunday, 20 August. By learning how to use the tools you will need to learn this and other traditional forms of calligraphy, you will be ready and able to follow the Foundational workshop as well as many others in the Gentle Penman's upcoming program.
