We will make patterns with marks and letters. By constantly changing the parameters, and copying patterns in landscape, we will open a window on the infinite possibilities of creating textures. The approach is meant to be playful and does not exclude those who are not calligraphers. The love of letters, a little fantasy, concentration and a certain taste for risk are all that is necessary. Class experiments will include patterns and textures from the New Mexico landscape, and from our collaboration in the classroom.
