Roman Holiday 2024
Hosted by the Chicago Calligraphy Collective at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa
June 22-29, 2024 | Conference website
PRE-ORDER DEADLINE: JUNE 13, 2024
Hello! Ciao! Ave! After a five year hiatus, our international calligraphic community will gather IN PERSON for Roman Holiday 2024, the 40th Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Conference! While we’re excited just to gather in the same location after such a long time, St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa provides the reason why we celebrate coming together as a community. St. Ambrose University (SAU) was the home of Father Edward Catich, whose seminal book The Origin of the Serif has influenced countless lettering artists. It is now the home of Father Catich’s extensive archives and his contribution to our history simply insists on being recognized and honored. Our hope is that the theme of Roman Holiday captures our collective journey from formal, traditional rules of historical form to personal, creative expression.
Your pre-order must be placed prior to June 13, 2024. Should you need help with placing the order, please give us a call! 336-272-6139 or 800-369-9598. The conference supply lists are below for easy ordering.
Online participants (Series D) will choose a total of 30 hours of online instruction (two 15-hour classes or one 30-hour class) via live and/or recorded participation. Schedule will be posted prior to class selection.
