Description
FP154. Zebra G Fountain Pen (Titanium Nib)
This fountain pen uses a Zebra G Titanium nib, allowing you to write pointed pen scripts without needing to continually dip into ink! Instead, you fill the pen with bottled fountain pen ink using the piston-fill mechanism (removeable) and write - and write - and write. The pen's Ebonite feed was specially designed and manufactured for the Zebra G Titanium nib, so the pen doesn't leak. A kit is included for changing the nib when it wears out. (Nib changing is not complicated, but it has to be done with some care. Complete printed instructions are included.)
We have tried numerous fountain pens fitted with pointed nibs over the years, but this is the first that doesn't leak, and none have been as user-friendly as this one. Our testers have loved it. We tried it with standard fountain pen ink as well as Herbin Shimmer metallic inks; both worked well.
The Zebra G Titanium Nib has flex and can work for pointed pen scripts. It has a lot of flex compared to regular fountain pen nibs, but the contrast between thicks & thins not the same as with with Brause 66EF, Hunt 101, Gillott 303 dip pen nibs.

Good fountain pen but nothing will replace an oblique holder
On 02/22/20 I received my Osprey Flexpert fountain pen which was adapted to hold a Zebra G Titanium nib. I used the supplied Noodle's black ink and found that it flows a little too much causing excessive ink at the turns in Copperplate writing. After experimenting with about 15 types of ink I finally found one ink that flows perfectly, which is Mont Blanc Burgundy color ink. The nib is a little scratchy but it provides fine and fairly thick (shading) lines. With the Mont Blanc ink I'm able to write continuous embellished lines with a small amount of shading. The oblique holder with the Zebra Nib provides much better line quality, but so far I'm happy with this Osprey pen that I can now just put in my pocket and get some semblance of Copperplate writing without leaks.
