- Great nib for pointed pen scripts
- Excellent for for beginners
- Between Nikko G and Zebra G in sharpness and flex

- Stamped on nib: G / Superior/ Tachikawa / No 3
- Does well on less smooth surfaces, but thick/thin contrast is limited.

    G Nibs

Posted by Raymond Gutierrez on Jun 5th 2023

I bought several G nibs to try them out Tachikawa, Leonardt and Nikko. Out of the three the Tachikawa G nib worked best for me. It gives me the right amount of thin upstrokes and heavy down strokes. I like it in that I can use any kind of paper and it glides across the paper well. I can't say the same for the other two. I find them snagging the paper too often. If I need to buy more G nibs Tachikawa will be the one I will buy.

    Tachikawa G

The Tachikawa G nib is a very durable nib that gives fine hairlines and has a smooth tip that does not catch on papers. It is more flexible than the Nikko G and produces finer hairlines. I have had success using it with numerous writing fluids including inks and gouache.
