Description

B4377. Reusable Brush Lettering Workbook. Zinnia Cheng and Luis Chiang. 2021. Sprial-bound

Brush-pen calligraphy practice can consume a lot of paper. Not so with this workbook! Instead of using ink, you do the practice exercises on the pages of this book with a water-filled brush pen (included). As you write, the letters appear as normal, but when they fully dry, the letters disappear and you can do the page again, and again and again! Includes 26 pages of upper- and lowercase practice sheets, 6 pages of quotes/ sentiments, and a link to a YouTube step-by-step tutorial.

Fun to practice with, worth the price!

This is such a genius book! I love that the pages dry to practice on over and over again! The paper technology for the book is quite impressive, and though I don't always get to see the way my letters look when the water marks dry quickly, it's still a great practice book. I take it nearly everywhere for mess-free, quick, and easy setup and cleanup, especially when I am at waiting rooms or in my car, and I have a minute to spare to practice brush lettering. The water brush it comes with is also really convenient and has pretty good water flow. The brush bristles also spring back, and it's very forgiving/beginner-friendly, especially for someone like me who is learning how to have better control for my brush strokes. The only things I have to note on the book are that the water brush tip does not twist on and off the reservoir in the conventional way, which I don't mind, since my Koi water brushes do the same thing. The other thing to note is that the practice page template for "Happy Mother's Day" has a typo that says, "Happy Mothday's Day", but I end up writing it as "Mother's" when I practice on that page to see how it looks in spite of the typo underneath my disappearing brush marks. Overall, in spite of the things I noted above, I am very happy with this book, and I am learning a lot about brush lettering—it has been a very enjoyable and satisfying experience to practice lettering with!
