Description

V300. Pergamena Parchment, Roycroft Goatskin Cut Sheet.

Pergamena’s Roycroft is the gold standard when it comes to parchment that stands the test of time. But it’s not just the ultra-smooth surface or the creamy, consistent color that makes Roycroft so special—it’s the incredible story behind its creation.

When parchment is stretched in the tannery, the edges are trimmed. But instead of discarding them, Pergamena gives these scraps a second life. Each piece is saved, shredded, slow cooked for days, and blended with calcium carbonate to form hide glue or hide gesso. This mixture is then painted on both sides of the parchment, resulting in a thicker, board-like surface that’s perfect for calligraphy and detailed botanical art.

The name Roycroft comes from an historic English tannery that crafted parchment for the King and Queen, used for royal proclamations and official documents.

Available in two sizes: 5” x 7” or 8” x 10.” Each cut sheet of Roycroft comes with a small sample scrap of Roycroft to practice writing on.

About Pergamena:

Their commitment to reducing water usage and environmental impact ensures that every product reflects both craftsmanship and eco-consciousness.
