In this class students will practice calligraphic mark making and asemic writing with acrylic inks on a full size sheet of watercolor paper. There will also be aa introduction to some gesso techniques combined with some colored inks or watercolor pencils. This will then be folded and bound into a 16 page book form. Areas may then be enhanced with collage papers, calligraphic quotations and other media. Students will be encouraged to write quotes in their journals with pen or a fine point permanent marker. Asemic (abstract) writing will be presented as a way to make the book more personal. Hole punching, page tearing and collaging all make this interesting book form into a work of art.
