Rendering in Mixed Dry Techniques with Irina Neascu
This class is suitable for intermediates and advanced. It will focus on how to mix techniques while keeping the focus sharp, and on how to choose which is which - graphite or watercolor - in a botanical art composition. I aim to choose simple models, such as acorns, that will reveal shape, lights and shadows. This can be a good exercise for those who want to try dry brush, or maybe reconsider their knowledge in rendering light and shadow. It implies notions of composition and colors, but the class will mostly focus on how to mix techniques, not necessarily on how to basically handle them, therefore a minimum level is desirable.
Supply list:
- (HW100, WNWC1-4, PL38) Watercolor and pencils, of one’s choice – we will work on nuts and acorns, so in a range of browns and sepias. Pencils I recommend the whole range 4H-4B
- (BR26, BR81) Brushes, small sizes
- (PL13, E13) Eraser and sharpener
- (P2048) Paper of one’s choice, size A4 or A3 – I prefer A3
- (P112) Tracing paper
- (S1145) Tape
